Hey guys... just sticking a toe in because I've got something that I don't quite understand.

My temps are still super high and it's starting to bug me. The lowest my temps have gone is 97.75 and that was at 5 o'clock in the morning, 2 hours before temp time.

DH made me pee on another stick before picking up my Clomid. It was a stark BFN.

This morning's temp was 98.40!! WTH?!?!?

Hi, Nikki!

I do think that is very odd about your temps. It's like your progesterone hasn't gone down. I think it's *kinda* normal to have *higher* temps during AF, but that's pretty darn high! Any way you could get a call into your doctor and see what she/he thinks?

I was thinking about that. Unfortunately, the soonest I'd be able to talk to them is Monday.

Part of me feels like What are you going to say? "Um... I had a period, a bit lighter than usual, and all of my HPTs have been BFNs, but my temp is still through the roof... so, I'm concerned."

I dunno if that sounds silly or not, ya know?

I'm also concerned about taking my Clomid. If on some CRAZY off chance I actually am pg and it's not showing up on pee sticks AND I had early bleeding... I don't know what Clomid would do, ya know?

Right on...

I'm certainly hoping that's what happens... While I've certainly had higher than usual temps since starting the Clomid, they've never remained in the 98's this far into my Pre-Ov phase... so it's just a bit unsettling.

No better place to ask about it than here, kwim?

Well the thing is, you DON'T normally have high temps during AF so this is unusual for you. And I saw you mention it, but after reading your first post I looked at your past charts and you almost always have at least one day during AF marked as heavy bleeding. This time you didn't. If I were you, I would call them and ask for a blood test or something. Tell them that your temps always go down and they haven't and your "period" was lighter than normal because it may not have been an actual AF. It doesn't sound stupid at all, it sounds like a good idea! You might be one of those women who doesn't get a BFP until a few weeks into pregnancy. How have you been feeling?

Michelle Exactly... It is unusual for me... and that's why it's buggin' me.

My bbs never got sore or tender, I had much milder cramps, I've still had some nausea and I've still been tired. That was part of the reason DH made me pee on another stick.

I'm totally NOT trying to sound like a freak grasping at straws... it's just freaking me out. Just to see if my temps have really dropped and it's just seeming weird, I changed my AF to spotting just to see.

If I had temped at 7 am instead of 5 am on the 11th, it would've been around 98.15

It's probably nothing... (scratching head)

I definitely think you have something going on there. I don't know what, but something's happening. You should definitely call your doctor on Monday and ask for a test. You're not sounding like a freak about this, I would be concerned too if I were in your shoes. You've always been very good about keeping your chart as accurate as possible and your shifts are generally very clear. So that's why this doesn't seem like just a fluke to me...I think there's a reason for it.

Nikki, I think your temps may be higher because of the Clomid. It is known to cause higher preo temps. I know my preo temps were higher when I took it. I also have found that fertility meds seem to have lingering affects. I know it took me a while before I stopped getting the hot flashes even after I stopped taking the Clomid.

I'm sure it's the clomid. It did the same thing to my temps when I was on it. Stressed me out too! In fact..... I haven't taken Clomid since December, and I am still having earlier ovulations like I did while i was on it. I definitely think that it makes your cycles confusing for a while during treatment and afterwards too.

Thanks for the opinions.

I'll just have to wait and hope that everything is fine then I guess.

My pre-O temps were always a little higher once I had been taking Clomid for a few cycles. Your pre-O temps from this cylcle, when compared to last cycle, are only slightly elevated so I think it is likely the Clomid. I'm glad you are giving the Comid another chance. Your chart from last cycle definitely indicates thatyour body is responding positively to taking it so hopefully you can catch the egg soon!

Temp FINALLY dropped to a more normal number for the FIRST time at my normal temp time.

Now I just really hope they stay down.

If they go back up into the 98's I'll be really tempted to stop temping this cycle, because if they decide to stay in the 98's... my Post-Ov temps would have to be like... low grade fever level to show a biphasic shift. UGH!!!

I have been wondering about something though. I wonder if the first round of Clomid didn't really do much, because I O'd from my left ovary, the only one that ever worked on it's own, and I had my usual 12 day LP.

Last round, I O'd from my right ovary and had a 15 day LP. I've also heard stories of women who swore they were pg on their first round because the symptoms were so strong, but they found it was just the Clomid.

So I'm starting to wonder if the last round was the first one that actually DID anything, ya know?
