I thought I might be starting to head into normal temps after yesterday's (97.76). This morning... I wake up to 98.21

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted this thought in the other thread... but I don't think anyone is checking that one anymore because nobody responded... so I'll float the idea here.

I'm starting to wonder if last cycle was the first one where the Clomid actually did anything. I O'd from my right ovary, which I don't recall happening before the Clomid and I had a 15 day LP instead of my usual 12.

I am also pretty sure that my high temps are from the Clomid... but it has caused me to consider quitting temping for this cycle. If my temps stay in the 98's like this... my Post-Ov temps will have to be like... low grade fever to show a proper shift, ya know?

After DH asked what my temp was today, I ran the idea by him. He is of the opinion that I should continue temping "but just kinda take them with a grain of salt." I kinda think, if I'm to take them with a grain of salt... why bother taking them at all?

Maybe they will drop eventually... maybe I should just soldier on and see what happens.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have any good advice, but I'd keep temping just to see what happens with you because now I'm curious more than anything! I've seen some girls with higher pre-O temps so I don't think you're going through anything totally crazy... but maybe a couple days before you O you'll see your temp go way down first, then back up. Good luck Nikki!!!!

Nikki, I think you should look at my chart- pre-O I have a high temp of 98.16- I know, not as high as yours, but still pretty high for pre-O. My temps are usually relatively high early on, then they usually stabilize the closer I get to O. I would continue temping and see. I realize my temps are more erratic because I can't temp at the same time every day, but I hope this helped! And lots and lots of to you!

Maybe you should continue temping just to see the "pattern" but not to really do it for the actual temps themselves if that makes sense?

Another option I have considered doing myself is taking the temps each day and only writing them down but not inputing them into FF so that I don't think too much about them. But then when my cycle is over, I would go back and input them so I would still have all my data to confirm Oing and all that. I would just hate to loose out on a whole months of temps as I'm sure you would too!

Are you sure you aren't coming down with something and that is causing your temp to be higher?

Nikki, sorry this is throwing you for a loop - I know I'd be frustrated too! Maybe hopefullmommy (sorry don't know your name ) is right, that your temps will lower closer to O. I also think your theory about right v. left ovary might be right - is it possible that you have a stronger O from your right side, with a better corpus luteum and thus the long LP/high temps?

I would think you would still see enough of a shift when you O...or maybe like someone else said....your temps will actually go down around the time you O. So, I guess I would keep temping, but it's such a habit for me anyway that I would feel weird if I stopped.

Those are crazy high temps! I would be tempted to stop charting. You may want to post of the FF boards to try and find people who have done more than 1 clomid cycle and see what their charts look like.

I think you may be right about it not really kicking in for you until last cycle, and now it has gone into high gear! If you keep charting I'll be keeping an eye out to see if you have a temp shift or not. (and one thought on stopping charting, I know you always have O pains, so if you do stop you'll know when you Oed anyways)
