I had braces for 4 years when I was younger... broke my jaw a few years back and they went a little crazy. I just recently saw my old ortho and he said that if I put my old retainers in, it may help a little and obviously won't cost anything.

Now I've been wondering, will wearing my retainers at night affect my temps? I would obviously have to take the bottom one out to actually take my temperature, but I'm worried that it would be too much movement or somehow the plastic may hold a different temperature, or maybe the pressure may cut off some kind of circulation and reduce my temp or SOMETHING crazy could happen. Heck, I may end up sleeping with my mouth open because it's like a foreign object after years of not wearing them.

My first thought was to just wake up a few hours earlier and take them out then go back to sleep for a few hours prior to temping... but that seems like so much work. This just really bites because I would prefer to wear them at night over during the day since I am not eating, they're not bothering me, and I sleep through most of the pain. I mean, I guess if I sleep with my mouth shut everything should temp the same, right? Ehhhh.

Maybe I'll just wear the top one when I sleep and the bottom one during the day, even though the bottom ones are the ones that really need a little help.

I swear the things we go through to conceive is bound to make us all bonkers!!

I wear a night guard every night and it doesn't bother my temps at all.

you can try it ofr a while and if you feel that it is causing a problem you can start temping vaginally
