Hi Ladies,
this is my 2nd time posting. I'm TTC for #3 though I frequent the NTNP board since that's how we started. This is my 2nd month charting, and first month using OPKs (per doctor's instructions). I see my doc again next Thursday. My chart last month looked fairly normal. This cycle has been all over (see below). No cross-hairs yet, but majorly positive opk on Sunday. I put a + for saturday too but really Sunday was the day it was much darker than the control line.

My question is, why don't my temps show ovulation? I WAS temping orally, then switched to vaginally, which I then read you shouldn't do--oops. So CD 20 and on is vaginal. And I wonder why my temps were so erratic and now since CD 23 more stable? My typical ovulation is CD 19-21 so this is fairly late in the game for me. I took another OPK today just to check and it was NEARLY positive. Could my LH surge have been a long one?

Ok, if anyone could take a look and see if they can make sense of it, I would greatly appreciate it. I've already had my hormone levels checked and everything was normal. A normal cycle length for me (since weaning my son) is 30-33 days.

OK so here is my input:
I think temping vaginally is an awesome idea, and im glad you decided to do it.... although yes changing half way between a cycle can be bad.
I tend to get more than 1 pos OPK also and when i researched it, i pretty much learned that i was catching the surge going down also and the OPKs that i was using were too sensative for me, so i switched from answer to answer test strips.
I also never count an almost positive as a positive at all because well... it just doesnt count so nar.
Im thinking that you are real close to O or did O yesterday.
can i ask a question??? Why did you discard some temps??

Hi Krista!!
I need to take the first + opk off my chart---I meant to, just forgot! I discarded the 27th and 28th because I was in Colorado at the time. Different time zone, I woke up at strange times, and frequently (had my 3 year old daughter with me), the room was HOT, I am used to sleeping in a cold room etc. Basically I thought they weren't reliable enough. Time-wise I was probably 2 hours off from when I'd normally temp. I had a reason for discarding the 19th too, but I can't remember what it was! I think I woke up late. Or temped late???

I realize now I shouldn't have started temping vaginally until next cycle. But since I'm this far I figure I'll stick with it and that way there's only one place where I've switched instead of two.

You may be onto something as far as OPK sensitivity. I WAS using cheap ones I got on amazon, but I used them up! Then I bought Answer brand mid stream, and that's where I got my first pos (extra dark test line). I got some FR mid stream next and that's what I got a nearly pos on today (have only used the one). It was darker than I had ever gotten on the strips. So maybe next cycle I'll go back to cheap ones and just buy more.

oh yeah keep those temps discarded.
The OPKs are throwing me off though, i was thinking that you Od on CD 22 and im sure if you take the Pos OPKs out FF would put it there too.
Im really at a loss of what else to tell you. I would keep with the vaginal temping because like i told you in NTNP, it really evened out my temps.
