Ok so I had a lengthier AF than I usually do and that was last week, ended last friday kind of spotted on Saturday... anyways so I am ready for a new cycle! Then yesterday I had this weird cramping going on as if I was going to start AF again... Well tuesday we had a brush fire here in town and since me and DH are on the volunteer fire dept I went and helped put it out so thought since it was somewhat strenuous activity maybe that was the cause.. but then I kept getting almost O type pains on my right side and I was like "already!?" I had whitish sticky CM last night and today too but now it's tinged brown like old blood and now I'm totally thrown for a loop! I feel kind of cruddy, like I'm getting a cold but that could be from the smoke...idk what to think, other than my body hates me!

It could be ovulation spotting!
On a side note, my body hates me, too.

Oh wow... that is confusing!! You certainly COULD be gearing up to O!! Hopefully that's what it is!!

On a completely unrelated note... I just noticed your Celiac & Gluten Free blinkies... DH can't do Gluten and MAN is it tough shopping and trying to find Gluten free stuff. He's always feeling crappy because EVERYTHING has wheat or gluten in it! It drives me crazy, since I do all the cooking... it's really tough. Any links or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Nikki... I'm so new to it, I'm having a hard time finding stuff to eat and everytime I eat something that might have gluten I FEEL it... it's so hard to find something WITHOUT it and sometimes I just go hungry because I'd rather not eat than eat and be miserable kwim?

I just am getting into the habit mainly of checking the labels, and when it doubt go without or at least look it up to see if it *might* have gluten in it. I did most of my research online and this site helped me get started on the whats and what nots to eat Gluten Free Diet, Gluten Free Recipes, Gluten Free Food Then here are some other websites that kind of help lead you in the right direction.

Gluten-free Diet Care Guide Information

More and more grocery stores seem to be coming out with gluten-free alternatives to things so that's nice. I try to stick to potatoes, corn and rice as far as 'carbs' go. Like we used to be a BIG pasta family and I LOVE pasta. Granted they make gluten free pasts made from rice, but DH and I aren't a fan of the texture/taste of it so now instead of making a pasta dish I make a rice dish.

Make sure you check labels and be extra cautious of anything that's "creamy" like creamed soups you may use to cook with and stuff, they have wheat flour. And from what I understand the FDA made it a law for companies to list if a product has WHEAT in it but Barley, Rye and some oats have gluten in it too. So I guess my biggest advice is again to check labels. Good luck! I hope that helped, sorry if I rambled on lol..

I just wanna throw this out there... I sometimes get "O" pains but they are really just pain from stool/gas passing through my intestinal track if I'm a little irregular (that is why I personally never rely on the O pain). Then the bleeding could have been from having a BM or from sex. Just an FYI, I hope I don't sound like an idiot.

You didn't ramble AT ALL! It was like I was reading about our life!!!

It used to be that he could have a little bit of gluten and he'd be okay... now, it's like the tiniest amount... and he's feeling like crap for about 2-3 days. We do the potato & rice thing too. He used to love my homemade Mac & Cheese, but can't have it anymore. I actually made it once with rice instead, and it was surprisingly good... so we're right with ya on substituting rice for pasta.

We tried brown rice pasta too and didn't care for it at all. I have bought him Thai Kitchen Stir Fry Rice Noodles, and those are actually pretty good. I first found them at Target and then I noticed our local grocery store had ONE box, so I bought it! I've also tried Bob's Red Mill products... they have a whole line of g-free stuff. My only complaint is the bags are so small!

This seems to be such a prevalent disorder anymore, that one would think more companies would be jumping to be the first one to really get a grip on that market share, ya know?

OH! (now I'm rambling! ) Duncan Hines has come out with g-free Brownie, Chocolate Chip cookie, Devils Food & Yellow cake mixes too. I just saw those in the store a few weeks ago and wondered about them. I didn't get one because 1. DH is trying to not eat so many sweets to lose some weight and 2. It was almost $4.00 for a box of brownie mix! I was like That's a little steep for Duncan Hines... Ghirardelli, maybe... I mean, that's gourmet chocolate... but Duncan Hines? C'mon!!

OMG that's crazy!! And I think it's sad that they mark the prices up on stuff that we HAVE to have kwim? It's not like we're CHOOSING to eat gluten free, we HAVE to! My big uh oh moments have been when we go out to eat.. I clam up on what to get b/c I can't read labels lol "Excuse me can I go into your kitchen and read the labels on your food products?" It's hard to determine what's ok and what's not b/c like you said Wheat products are in EVERYTHING! I'll have to see if I can find those stir fry rice noodles, they sound good. I hope that with Celiac becoming more well known that more companies will start making gluten free stuff, and for gosh sakes not make it so dang expensive!!!

Mrs. H- It could have been from irregularity, I'm still working the toxins out of my system from cutting out gluten. I usually don't go strictly off of O pains either but just found it odd to have "O" like pains so soon after AF.
