Hi! I'm Stephenie (23), DH is Andrew (23). We got married in May 2009 and we started TTC our first in December. I have used OPKs twice, but unfortunately they were both cycles where I didn't ovulate. I decided I better supplement that with charting so I got my fertility friend started up and plan to start charting. The last time I didn't ovulate I went exactly 8 weeks without AF so I figured that since she was supposed to arrive today and didn't, and I got a BFN (though I'm not actually giving up, I stopped using the OPKs and I think that I MAY have ovulated after that) I better get serious about charting. I got my thermometer and I'm going to take my temp first thing in the morning. I'm nervous though that I'll mess it up. It seems pretty easy just starting up but I'm afraid it might get a little hairy when I get farther in. Anyway...that was really long. I just wanted to stop by and say hello.

Welcome! I love charting, you learn so much about your body when you chart.

Since you have long cycles and sometimes are anovulatory charting is almost a must. It will help you determine your real EDD once you are pregnant. It will also potentially help you figure out if you are having a problem.

I did go to the doctor, but since I've only been off the pill for four months (which I totally spaced on mentioning) and since we've only been trying four months they said that they wouldn't do anything for me yet, and that they didn't even really want to give me a Rx for anything at 6 months even (but I'm pushy) they said that if I wasn't pregnant and I was still not ovulating regularly, they wanted me to come back in May. I'm hoping that with the charting we can nail this down!

to Stephenie & Stacey!! We're so glad to have you both with us!!

I'm Nikki, one of the co-hosts of this board, and I think charting will open a whole new window into what goes on with your body. It's quite fascinating!!

Stephenie - Don't worry about messing things up... as long as you're using a BBT thermometer and temping at the same time BEFORE doing ANYTHING ELSE... you'll be just fine.

It can seem a bit overwhelming at first with the cervical fluid and the cervical position and blah blah blah... but it's so much easier than it sounds. Plus, you've got all of us now!!! If you get stuck on something... that's what we're here for!

You might want to check out the Fertility Charting School sticky. There are lessons in there that go over each part of charting and help break things down into smaller more easily digestible bits.

I look forward to getting to know both of you much better over the coming weeks. I hope your TTC journey is a short and sweet one...

Best of Luck & Baby
