Hi,
My name is Rachael and I love lurking on this board- I've learned so much! But I need help! I just started temping this month, and I am pretty sure that I'm not going to ovulate. I was hoping that you guys could drop some knowledge on me. My cycle is pretty short, like 24-25 days, and based on previous O symptoms I used to think that I O'd around cd 13/14, but I have this 'thing' where I only have O symptoms every-other-month, so I'm not trying not freak out that one of my ovaries is kaput. Now that I'm temping, I think can officially confirm that something is up, though.

So far this cycle, I'm already on the night of cd14, and my cm is practically non-existent, and my opks have been the lightest I've ever seen them. Blah. I wouldn't be against the idea of O'ing late, but where my cycle and lp are already fairly short, I'm running out of time. I'm wondering how common it is to have an anovulatory cycle, if my chart is starting to look like one, with such flat temps...? My only hope is that I've had a lot of left sided O-type pains (but for like 3 days!) and my cervix has definitely moved up and softened....?? I guess a few more days of temps will tell for sure, but geez, I'm pretty bummed. This is my 7th cycle of actively ttc (ntnp for a year), and I guess I know why I'm not getting pregnant. I've heard its pretty hard to if you don't pop an egg.

I would really love any input, and I'm sorry for rambling...

I'm not sure. It doesn't look like you have ovulated, at least not yet, but I guess it's pretty common to have annov cycles, especially the older you get. You could also be ovulating during mensus, but I don't think you did. Its still early in the game for O though, you could still O and have a really short LP. :/ GL.

It is really too soon to tell. I onsistently O around CD 16 and have shorter cycles too. I used to have a 9-10 luteal phase. Since I started eating better my cycles have started to get longer, but I still O around CD 16.

with the previous posters... I don't think you have O'd as of yet. Anovulatory cycles are perfectly normal and not always indicative of a recurring problem.

Keep in mind that even if you do O on say CD 20, that doesn't mean you're then going to have a 5 day LP. Your LP will just begin later, kwim? O can be late for a myriad of reasons... some of which you may never be able to pin point.

If your cervix seems to be rising and getting softer though, I'd keep monitoring your fertile signs. I had to do the same thing this time... this month I didn't O until CD 18, which is the latest I have EVER O'd.

Keep BD'ing and stay on top of your signs... I'll be interested to see how your chart develops in the coming days.

Best of Luck & Baby

Thank you so much, I feel a little bit better. I guess we'll see what the next few days bring...
