Hey Ladies!

I'm Laurel. I have two kiddos Phoenix who is 6 and Lincoln is 20 months. I'm currently WTTC until after my wedding, which is on November 30th. I'm currently on the BCP and I hate it. I'd also like to learn all about charting etc so I can use NFP because hormonal BC really effects me in a negative way.

I've never TTC before. Both my children were conceived while trying to prevent. My first I used the morning after pill, and my second I was on BCP for 4 years when he was conceived. So because I've never tried I have no idea how to try. I've read the information in the subforums above in the school but I'm still somewhat lost.

Now I'm curious about a couple of things. Can I start charting while on the pill? I don't think I can because you're not supposed to ovulate while on the pill, but I want to learn asap. We'd really like to get pregnant right after our wedding (we'd even like a honeymoon baby) so I want to do everything I can to get pregnant when we try. Any information should be greatly appreciated!

You can ovulate on the Pill, but the BCP will suppress your signs of fertility - so no, you can't really chart. I mean, you can for practice, but it likely won't tell you anything.

If you have any NFP questions, don't hesitate to drop on by the NFP/FAM board. Charting to avoid and charting to conceive are a little different. The easiest way to learn NFP well is by taking a class (in person or online).

Here's some information about how to track fertility with the Billings Method, which is one kind of NFP (there are lots of kinds.)

Welcome to the board!

I agree with Shawna about the pill. If you want to get pregnant right away in November, you may want to go off the pill and try NFP/charting so your cycle becomes your regular and you get used to charting.

I hope you become pregnant easily come November!
