Went in for b/w & u/s this morning.
They took blood first... and I'm tellin' ya, I'm really starting to get used to all these dang needles! Which is saying something for me, because I HATE needles!!
Went into the u/s room, unfolded the ginormous paper napkin they give you to cover with and sat waiting. I was wondering if I was gonna O from the left this time because I've been feeling some discomfort on that side this morning.
Toni (Dr. Russell's assistant) came in with a nurse to do my u/s and asked how I was. I told her I felt a bit nauseous this morning, but other than that... I was fine. She began the u/s and confirmed that we're doing insemination this month.
I made sure we're not supposed to be abstaining or anything and she said they'd tell us. She asked when the last time we BD'd and I told her yesterday. She said "That might've been a good thing." as she showed me a big old fat follie. I asked which side it was on and she said "Left" I said "I was wondering about that because I've been feeling a bit of discomfort on that side this morning." She noted some fluid near the follie and said "Depending on what your b/w says, we may be doing your IUI today!"
She explained that my follie was no longer perfectly round and that's what happens when the egg gets ready to pop out. She said everything looks really good with the follie measuring at 22.47mm and my uterine lining at over 10.
So, I've called DH and told him he may be having so skip out from work early today. Since his boss had to go thru IVF herself (she gave us the referral to Dr. Russell), we're pretty confident that if he goes in and tells her that we need to do our IUI today, she'll say "Go!" I told him to put a bug in her ear now that it MAY happen today.
And now I just saw I just got my first + OPK.

I'm so

Awww!!! I never realized there were so many people following my journey!
Well... It's done!!
DH went in the little room with the magazines and TV. When he came out he wasn't feeling so hot about things. He thought he could've "done better" and was concerned because we BD'd yesterday but I told him I was sure it would be fine. They took us back for the actual IUI and I was a bit nervous because, let's face it... just about everything aside from u/s's have been at least somewhat painful!
So Toni came in and was very excited. She said we couldn't be timing this any better! She said I had a wonderful LH surge this morning in my b/w. She also said that DH gave a FANTASTIC sample! Better than his last S/A even. He had a total of 22.5 million sperm and she said after they washed and separated the best ones we had 5.5 million to use today which she said is a great number!!!
They showed me the "syringe" and told me what they'd do. The put the chair back, in went Mr. Ducky and the next thing I knew, she said "You're done" I said "Shut up! I didn't feel anything at all!" She said we can BD again tomorrow if we want, which we will, but even if we don't, she said we're totally covered.
I can't believe it's done! I've got a really good feeling about this!!
