I agree, I think it just tells you when the new moon and full moon are.

I don't see a moon on my calendar. I want moons!

just lurking here. the phrase "moon phase" caught my attention as I am an avid reader on the subject of prehistoric and goddess religion. In the event that these little moons on your calendar are not there to tell you the phase of the actual moon up in the sky (which I would say would be an odd, random, sort of thing to put on a fertility calendar) my guess would be that they are there because the cycles of the moon have always had a connection to the cycle of the female menses and ovulation. you might even hear pagan women refer to their periods as their "moon phases/days"
so there is a connection with fertility, and not just a weird, random thing to have on your calendar.
makes sense to me. but of course I don't have one of these calendars so I might not know what I am talking about at all. lol!

Yea, I definitely believe there is a connection. I was doing some research on lunaception because my cycles had become longer and out of whack and found out that light, whether moon or artificial, can affect your cycle when you sleep. So I tried sleeping in complete darkness except for when I was supposed to ovulate this last cycle and actually ovulated four days earlier. My cycle went from 36 days to 32. I will be trying this again to see if I can get it down to 28-30 days, which is how long my cycle used to be before it got screwed up for some reason. I think there are a lot of things that can affect when you ovulate...I just didn't know light was one of them. Its worth looking up...

it all fits. the full moon is suposed to represent ovulation and the new moon would be AF. I never knew that any kind of light would work though. Thats pretty cool.
