No, I will limit some things, but others I do not feel are that significant of a risk. I still drink coffee and eat sushi.

I'm pregnant and i can say nope! It thought i would be soooo careful after how long it took us to concieve. But some things seem silly. I eat lunch meat almost everyday. It's never made me sick before. I just am careful to make sure it's stored properly. Instead of having coffee, I have half-caf, and only when i'm working. Does the trick. And I do occasionally have soda. (though not as often, makes me dehydrated) I even allow myself they occasional sip of alcohol, but not much more. I think the most i've had at a time was a quarter of a beer.

I don't drink coffee or alcohol (except some wine here or there) anyway so that won't be a problem. I don't eat lunch meats so that won't be a problem either. I very rarely drink sodas so I don't think I'll worry too much about that. I guess I won't have to do too much

lunch meat I think is debatable, but it is high in sodium and will increase retention. I cut back on my caffiene to 1/d (but really I don't drink much anyway). I love that I get to eat anything I want when pregnant. One of the best parts of being pregnant. Besides at the start, its just all you can do to keep ANYTHING down.

I absolutely will. I know I will be over cautious though, just because of all the losses we've been through. I want to take ever precaution I can, and do everything I can to help.

I think I'll be very much like Alice.

I want to make good choices, but I refuse to be the Girl in the Bubble, ya know?

I didn't for my first, but will for my second. I was severely sick the entire pregnancy with DD, and there were three things that helped it: Pepsi, salty foods, and ice. Besides keeping away the nausea, they also gave me a ton of cavities, preeclampsia, carpal tunnel, and anemia.

I normally hate carbonated drinks, but loved them pregnant. Salty foods give you high blood pressure(preeclampsia) and make you swell up(carpal tunnel), and chewing ice makes you anemic. That is so weird. Since I was little, I loved chewing ice when I was sick. No more of that!

Next time I'm going to see how I do on a limited salt diet and tons of water.

Is it the chewing ice that makes you anemic, or is it the anemia that makes you WANT to chew ice? It is like hte chicken and hte egg I guess...lol

I do plan on eating the way I eat now. I eat low to moderate carbs, no grains...all fruits and veggies, meats, and dairy. It has helped me get healthy and lose the weight I need to. When I am pregnant I will increase carbs to decrease weight loss, but I won't change how much protein and fat I eat.

I'll definitely use my judgement - I'll be cautious of certain things, but I agree with the PP, I wont be living in a bubble. My OB has already said, just to consume in moderation. One caffeinated beverage a day is fine, just as long as it's not a Starbucks Espresso, etc.

I'll drop the soda, will have coffee occasionally and drop the sushi. Last pregnancy was amazing because I CRAVED water...I couldn't stand soda at all (Coca Cola is my weakness)
