I just joined JM recently but have yet to post over here. I'm definitely a veteran at charting and temping but it's been a few years. I have my old BB therm but decided since it's a few years old I'd go ahead and buy a new one. Thinking now maybe I should have just stayed with old and faithful.

I bought a Target brand BBT. I've been temping and charting for 2 weeks at least now. No clue where I am in my fertility life because I was on depo for 9 months and I haven't had a cycle since Oct. Last shot was November. So I'm patiently waiting but trying to see if I can make heads or tails of what my body is doing. I feel ovulation cramping off and on but it seems to stall out each time.

Anyways, the BBT I have always seems to say my temp is 97.33 very often. So often it's almost got me wondering if it's a dud. Not 2 seconds later I can test again and it'll jump to 97.73. I'm a stickler about not making movement until temping is done, it's done the same time every morning, etc. I know the rules and how quickly your temp rises after waking.

I'm not sure if I should change the battery and see if that helps or just purchase a new one or try using my old one. Is there any that you ladies recommend as pretty accurate?

Jessica

Hi Jessica,

I have never tried a Target brand BBT but I've had similar experience with a Walgreens one. The one I have right now is from Walmart and it seems to be doing its job well. It's very similar to the one they sell on earlypregnancy.com You can try changing the battery and see if that will work. I hope that helps

The BD brand is the best. I have used that brand for 10 years or so. I have tried others, like hte Walgreen's one and another one, but they can't compare. I hate them.

THe BD brand has memory and backlighting so you don't have to turn on a light to see what it says. It also beeps so you know it is in the right spot and then beeps quickly once it is finished taking the temp. It is very reliable, and even though my batteyr is dying on mine it stills works.

I've used the Walmart one and the Walgreens one. The Walgreens one stinks.
