Hello ladies!!! My name is Brittney, and I am just now starting to chart. I am going off BC (mainly because I think it makes me crazy), so hopefully my cycles get regular soon. So any hints let me know!! Thanks!

Take your temp at the same time every morning, set your alarm if you need to and then go back to sleep if you want. The NFP&FAM board is also better for those who are charting to avoid. Most the women here are charting to concieve.

Hi and welcome! Do you chart your temp anywhere? Most of us use fertilityfriend.com to chart our temps. You can set up an account (it's free) and then link it in your sig so that we can stalk it Let us know if you have any questions

Well I am not TTC YET!! I am starting in January and want to get more familar with my body with charting because i will start trying to sway for a girl!!

Is it not reliable BBT if I never get "restful" sleep?? Also What is the best time to take your BBT?? Like after a certain amount of time or what?? I am up at 7:30 pretty much every day (if not earlier) but thats with lots of wake ups in between.

I am not a great sleeper - I typically wake up several times during the night. I have found that temping vaginally though helps me temp pretty accurately. Hope that helps!

I'm a light sleeper too and wake frequently at night. For me as long as I get about three hours of sleep I can temp whenever, but I still try to temp the same time everyday. I was able to BF throughout the night and still get accurate temps this way so... Also if you plan on using charting to prevent, FF isn't recommended. For one it's pretty inacurate as far as predicting ovulation. I hear women all the time saying how it changes their ovulation date. I use and like TCOYF as do a lot of long term charters. There is also other software out there like from the CCL (couple to couple league) and I think a few others. If you are NTNP then go ahead with FF.

Also I've noticed a lot of women who are ttc lately who might be having trouble with decerning EWCM and semen. I also recommend buying Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Although I've never read it, it seems to really help a lot of people.

Finally if you plan on seriousely using charting to avoid pregnancy, you might want to think about taking a class. Catholic or not, you can call a catholic church and ask them if they can refer you to a CCL course or NFP course. There are also some links to online courses where you can ask instructors questions. There are links for this on the NFP and FAM boards (as well as for some different software I think)

Welcome! I'm Lisa and I've been charting for almost a year. I use FF for charting online and haven't had any problems with it. Ask any questions you might have! There are a lot of knowledgeable ladies here!
