Can someone here please help me figure out what's going on with my cycle this month? I haven't a clue. My cycles have been totally out of whack since my D&C in February but they've been five weeks long since. This one has been even weirder. Please read:

Referenced from:

http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f2...-4-6-29-a.html (Suckiest. Chart. Ever. (And 4/5 DPO "Streaking"?) [UPDATE in POST 4, 6/29])

This cycle:

I'm going to continue ragging on my crappy chart this cycle. Not only did I NOT get a single positive OPK this cycle, but my temps are all over the place, FF gave me those lame dotted crosshairs, and I have no clue when I actually ovulated. FF says CD 17 but I don't know if I trust it.

[TMI Warning]

At 4 and 5 DPO I had what I'd refer to as "streaking." That's basically slightly more than spotting but not quite "bleeding" like AF. I'd only see it when I wiped and it was just pink CM "streaked" on the TP. See, "spotting" is just that -- a spot. I had that when I got pregnant in December. It was just one, single spot. If FF is right, then we probably BDd around the right time. But I didn't get a +OPK that entire time, which is totally unprecedented for me.

For what it's worth, I have NEVER had spotting or "streaking" before (except when I got pregnant and had it at 9 DPO. So it would seem to me that 4/5 DPO is way too early for IB, but it was definitely NOT AF. My temps also took a major nosedive today, right on the coverline.

I really hate not knowing what's going on. All I wanted was ONE +OPK this cycle. Just ONE. So because I don't know when I ovulated, I can't say when I should expect AF. And I can't explain the "streaking" either. It lasted for two days and then it was gone. It was VERY light pink and only when I wiped. No red, no brown, just pink.

Any thoughts? Should I trust FF or do you think I had an anovulatory cycle? I've heard that when you don't ovulate, your next bleeding is basically just bleeding from estrogen, but does that mean your cycle starts over again or is it still part of the same cycle?

So confused.

POST # 2:

Whoah, check out my temp dive today!

What is going on?!

I wonder if that VERY light spotting was AF? Nah. It was WAY too light, and that would have made it a three-week cycle.

How could my temps drop this low without either AF coming or having had an anovulatory cycle. I think it was the latter. I always get positive OPKs and I didn't this month, so I don't know what to expect now.

I really want this all to be over with.

I'm definitely no expert like the rest of the ladies here. Just wanted to offer !! I feel your pain going through the frustration of having a wacky cycle and chart. Hopefully some of these ladies here can shed some light. Are you testing with OPK's multiple times a day or just once - it could be possible that you really did O and just missed your surge. I hope you get some answers soon. GL! KUP!

Hmm.

Your temps during the first part of your cycle seem awfully high. Generally "pre-O" temps tend to be in the high 96's or the 97's.

The dotted CH's come when FF is unsure about your O date, whether that be because you get low temps or fertile CM after O day, etc.

I do not think the "streaking" you spoke of was AF. Technically, spotting is any type of bleeding that is less than a normal flow. It doesn't have to be a literal "spot".

Mid cycle bleeding and temps either hovering close to or falling below the cover line can be an indicator of a progesterone deficiency. It's also possible that your body is just taking a bit longer to recover from your D&C. I've not had that procedure, so I cannot speak from actual experience.

There is certainly no harm in putting in a call to your OB-GYN to find out if there is any cause for concern.

Best of luck to you... I hope you get some clarity very soon.

Have you tried an OPK recently? That dip could indicate ovulation.

I don't know, to me it doesn't seem like you ovulated yet. I could be wrong but I just don't see the sustained shift. So you may ovulate still or it may be an anovulatory cycle.

Thanks, ladies. I've been taking two OPKs every single day. I have not missed an LH surge the entire time I've charted -- since December 2008! Not once! I have always gotten positive OPKs!

These are the ones that had ANY sort of color to the test line at all, and clearly NONE of them are positive.

FF says my average date of ovulation is CD 14 but it's anywhere between CD 10 and 16. The latest one I had was a fluke and happened on CD 20 but I am still recovering from the D&C and my doctor said my cycles would be off for a while. I had the D&C in February so I can't imagine my cycles are STILL off, though! There's just no way I haven't ovulated yet. I think I am having an anovulatory cycle.

I also get mittelschmerz every month and I didn't get it this month. I just can't explain the temp fluctuation at all. It's totally bizarre! If they didn't take two GIANT nosedives in the LP, I wouldn't worry so much, but based on my chart, I'd say I either haven't ovulated, or I did ovulate on one of ANY of those days but will not know until AF comes. Then I can just subtract 14 from the cycle length since my LPs are typically 14 days long. I have 16 charts logged on my FF page, which is linked in my siggy. You can see all of my charts since December 2008. They're all pretty normal. And then last month's and this month's have been totally distressing me. I really wish I knew when I ovulated! Or if I even DID ovulate! Argh!

So these are the OPKs I've gotten this month:

CD 15:

CD 16:

CD 21:

CD 23:

And they've all been stark white negative since! My temp drop would indicate that AF is coming, but that would mean I ovulated way earlier than CD 17. I don't know. I really hate this stupid cycle. If I'm not pregnant, which I HIGHLY doubt since we only BDd once, then I just want AF to start so maybe I can ACTUALLY ovulate again and get a REAL shot next time!

That CD 23 opk might be very close to positive or even positive, I can't tell from looking at the picture. But it seems that the darkest part of the left line is as dark as the right line. But if that is positive, the temps don't show you ovulated yet. I'm confused!

Yeah, none of this makes sense. I am totally perplexed. I've never wanted AF to show so badly. I guess I'll have to wait and see what my temps do over the next few days.

*sigh*

If the CD 23 OPK is positive then a temp shift tomorrow would make sense. You can get a positive OPK anywhere from 12-48 (some say 72) hours before ovulation.
