I'm 29 years old and went off BCP 3 cycles ago and want to start TTC #1. I didn't track the first cycle, but I've had a 10 day Luteal Phase during cycle #2 and #3. I started taking 100mg of Vitamin B6 in addition to my prenatal vitamin on the first day of cycle 3. Apparently, it didn't make a difference since my Luteal Phase was 10 days during cycle #3.
Has anyone successfully gotten pg with a 10 day Luteal Phase??? I've been reading on the internet about LPs. Some sites say that less than 10 days is considered a deficit and other websites say less than 12 days is a problem. Anyone have any helpful advice?
Also, anyone have any suggestions for me besides the Vitamin B6? I am going to up the dose this cycle (cycle #4) and see if that helps.
If I have a 10 day LP again during cycle 4, do you think I should call my doctor??
Any help would be much appreciated!!!

I start spotting on DPO 10, and then AF comes full-force the next day. My temps stayed up this cycle until DPO 10. Last cycle they started going down around DPO 6 and kept going down a little each day until AF came.

I don't think it would hurt to call your doctor and see if they have any advice for you. It could be a result from the BC...I know it takes some women a bit of time to "get back to normal" after being on the pill. Best of luck! Definitely keep us updated!

Does anyone else have a 10 day LP? Has anyone gotten a BFP with a 10 day LP?

I don't have a 10 day LP, but I would call the doctor and see what's up. Also, B6 may take a little while to work. I know some of our girls here are taking it to lengthen their LP so hopefully they'll come in and tell the dose they are taking.

I was able to get pregnant with a 10 day LP but was unable to stay pregnant. I ended up taking clomid, estrogen and progesterone and was finally able to stay pregnant. Good luck!

I think it is very possible that your luteal phase is just off because of going off the pill. I think I would keep taking the B6 and give it one more cycle. I don't think it would hurt to call your doctor but I know how docs can be, especially when you just have gone off the pill. If you keep having cycles like this though I would call your doctor for sure and just be firm about your concerns.

Before I had my daughter, I would notice EWCM exactly a week before each AF. I got pregnant the first month I decided to BD every other day from the end of AF to the beginning of the next. (If I couldn't get preggers, might as well have a good sex life, ya know?)
I have a 10-11 day LP now. A couple cycles ago I got pregnant but that was a chemical. Tested + 2 days in a row, and - a couple days before AF showed. It implanted on day 6 for sure. I got symptoms that very day.
I read about this lady online worried about her 7 day LP, but her doctor told her that wasn't a problem. Sure enough she easily got pregnant 3 times and had 3 children.
I think you're probably safe with 10 days. B6 doesn't work for me either. It actually delays my ovulation. Vitex helps a bit, though. I only take one dose a day instead of three.

Fertility After Oral Contraceptives
Birth control pills are a popular choice of contraception for women wishing to delay pregnancy. As such, many women who are now trying to conceive have recently discontinued oral contraceptives. After discontinuing the pill, concerns often arise about the effects of previous oral contraceptive use on one's current ability to conceive.
Some of the questions that are frequently asked about oral contraceptives include:
How long will it take my cycle to regulate after discontinuing the pill?
Will previous pill use impact my future fertility?
How long will it take me to get pregnant after discontinuing the pill?
Can I start charting right after discontinuing the pill?
Surprisingly, there are few recent scientific studies responding to these questions. One relevant comprehensive recent study, however, is that by Dr. C. Gnoth and his colleagues at the University of Dusseldorf in Germany.
In an article titled "Cycle characteristics after discontinuation of oral contraceptives," published in the journal Gynecological Endocrinology in 2002, Gnoth and his colleagues compared the cycle characteristics of women who had recently stopped taking the pill with those who had never used oral contraceptives. The cycle characteristics were determined using basal body temperature (BBT) charts.
Relevant Findings
57.9% of all first cycles after discontinuing oral contraceptives were ovulatory (identified with BBT shift) with sufficient luteal phases (greater than 10 days).
10.24% of all first cycles after discontinuing oral contraceptives were not ovulatory (compared with 3.44% of control group). Significant differences also appeared in the second and third cycles after discontinuing oral contraceptives.
Cycles were longer in the post-pill group up to cycle number 12.
Cycle disturbances (defined as a luteal phase length of less than 10 days or a cycle length greater than 35 days) were more frequent in the post-pill group until the seventh cycle.
Cycle disturbances after discontinuing oral contraceptives were reversible but regulation took up to nine months or longer.

It took my body many cycles before it regulated after BCP. Your LP may extend on it's own with time. Also I read that taking b6 without taking a b-complex as well, can throw the body further out of wack. I got pregnant the cycle i started the b-complex.
And i averaged a 10-11 day lp with spotting at day 9, and after 2 years of trying, i am pregnant!
