First off, let me apologize for not being around so much lately. I've got a lot on my plate with a variety of things, and in all honest, ttc is very much stressing me out right now.

Ok...here's my dilemma....it's long so bear with me.

Here's a little background: Clomid really messed up my cycle last month. I'm usually a fairly regular ovulator but with the Clomid I didn't ovulate until cd 24...and my cycle was 39 days long.

So now that I'm back to CD 1 ...if I don't take the Clomid and O between cd 12 - 16 like I normally do...that puts me Oing between the 31st and the 4th. DH is out of town for Aug. 1 - 4th.

If I take the Clomid and it helps me O when I should...I could O on day 14 (or around there) and DH would be gone. Or, I could O on day 24 like last month, have a long cycle again, but at least have a shot at dtd with DH.

So what would you do? Not take the Clomid and possibly O when DH is gone...or take it and possibly O on time, with DH gone and suffer the side effects??

Ohhh you've got a big dilemma! I'm wondering if the last cycle was your body getting used to Clomid so that's why you didn't ovulate on time. What if this cycle you actually do ovulate on time with Clomid, then DH will be out of town. I think I would skip it and take the month to kind of relax and not be so stressed about it, because you know that it's not good when ttc. And then maybe by next month Clomid will be able to do its thing.

I ovulated late my first cycle on Clomid too but then I o'd on time the next cycle. If it were me, I would probably skip this month. I wouldn't want to waste the Clomid this month if your dh won't be around part of the month. Since you normally ovulate on your own I think this would be a good month to relax and see what happens.

Thanks girls. I think you're both right. I'm not even sure that Clomid will even help us at all. My OB said that it would just give us an "extra boost" but when I researched online, other doctors disagree with giving it out to ladies who already ovulate. So I dunno.

Patty...it's good to know that you O'd late on Clomid too the first round. The nurse I talked to thought I was strange I think. They told me to call on CD 22 if I hadn't ovulated and the nurse was like...yeah, you won't ovulate...it's too late now. Uh...ok.

Hey Girl ~
The 6 rounds of Clomid that I tried, I O'ed a few days later than I normally would, mid teens to early CD20'ish. I am in a VERY SIMILAR situation this month being on my 4th round of Femara. It has made me O earlier on in my cycle (CD10/13/14) and my DH is going to be gone around that time this month. So..... I have opted to skip out on ALL MONITORING this cycle I'm not gonna temp/use opk's/take my Femara. I really need a mental break after having a little emotional breakdown this past cycle.
