Hey..I have never tried to do this before and am quite lost on where to start. I ovulated on either the 13th and 14th this month. I went to the ob on Monday the 12th, he did a sono, saw a mature egg, and detecteed an lh surge my blood. He told me to take 5,000 units of hcg that day and to come back the enxt day for IUI ) we were going to do that for a sperm sorting reasons)...but last minute decided to just BD. The following Sunday....which was alst Sunday, I took 5,000 more units. I have had periods of nausea and hot flashes but had this last month too. We didn't try to conceive last month but it was my first month off the pill. I got my period on schedule...30 days. This past Wed and Thurs I tested for fun, even though the pos were from the HCG shot prob. I tested late last night and tonight and got a negative. (I also used dollar store tests...so save money until it gets closer) I am not due for my period till either this coming wed, thurs, or Fri. Ob said don't test till wed.
Anyway..I have been extremely warm feeling lately..lol...does that mean that my temp is up? I have had bouts of CM since ovulation...like a large quantitiy like once a day. (on and off)......I know I prob have to wait and see. But what else are my looking for? How do I chart/where do I chart? lol..........What do I chart? I conceived my dd on the first try and am hoping that this one brings me the same luck.....

For charting, you want to take your temp as soon as you wake up in the morning, at the same time everyday. If you are feeling feverish this would be different than your temps being up and could affect your charting temps. I would suggest to wait until your next cycle starts (or if you're pregnant it won't matter!) to start charting. You just need to make sure the thermometer you use goes to the tenth degree! Good luck!

As the pp poster said, take your temp the first thing in the morning and make sure you get a basal body thermometer to do that. I'm not sure if your temps would be reliable right now because you had hcg shot, but hopefully you can get some answers in a few days

with everything that has already been said.

If this cycle does turn out to be a bust:

1. pick yourself up a BBT at your local Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart... etc. They only run about $10 bucks or so.

2. Set yourself up a free Fertility Friend account. The program will track your temps, cervical position/mucus and any symptoms you enter. It will also calculate your cover line for you & assign you cross hairs. These are the red lines you may have seen on charts that separate the lower Pre-O temps from the higher Post-O temps.

3. Spend some time here on the board asking as many questions as you need to. That's how most of us learned! There are tons of FAB ladies here with lots of knowledge who will answer questions, interpret charts, pee sticks, etc.

And if you're a book person... I'd recommend picking up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It really taught me a tremendous amount when I was just getting started and I still find myself referring to it even now!

Best of Luck & Baby
