Im not a regular around here by any means, but hope I could get some help?
Here is my chart. 128f06 Ovulation Charts

I havent temp'd, but I am tracking when I get EWCM. I just got my IUD out July 14th and ovulated towards the end of the month hoping to catch the eggie. It didnt happen. I wasnt aware that you O after EWCM, but have since learned that. Now that I am looking at it I wonder if my luteal phase is long enough or should I be concerned?

Very consistently now I have been having EWCM on CD20 thru CD24. My period ALWAYS comes exactly 14days after the first day of EWCM. Last 2 cycles that has been CD33/34. I start spotting in the afternoonish of CD33, am lightly bleeding that evening, then its full force CD34. Assuming I O on the last few days of EWCM (CD23/24) or even right after that makes my luteal phase 10-11 days, right? Is that long enough? To short? Could that be why I didnt conceive this time around? Do you think its worth calling my doc and setting up an apt to speak with her?

I know its only been one month, but Im just wondering if I should get a proactive jump on this if it really is a problem and especially since Ive been seeing the same trend for several months now.

Thank you SO much for any and all help!

You really can't say how long your LP is without seeing a clear thermal shift to confirm ovulation. If your LP is 10-11 days though, that should be long enough for implantation to occur and raise your progesterone enough to lengthen it.

Some girls even get ewcm after O for a couple of days so there really isn't a good way to tell exactly when you O without temping. As the PP said though, even if your LP is 10-11 days... that's still considered normal. Also keep in mind that each cycle we only have a 25% chance of conceiving even if we do and time everything right. So don't stress that you didn't get PG last cycle - just keep BD'ing and it'll happen. No need to contact the doc just yet. GL!

Welcome! It's absolutely ok to ask about your LP here.

I agree with the other ladies. If you decide to temp, that will help you confirm when you've O'd. Best of luck!

Thank you so much I am planning on temping this cycle to get a better idea. I did find out vitamin B6 can help with your luteal phase and possibly lengthen it so I figure it cant hurt to take some this cycle.

Its funny, you think you know a thing or 2 about ovulation or your body only to find out your completely crazy and wrong

Oh, we totally know that around here! It seems like every few cycles I get completely thrown for a loop! Just when you think you've got it figure out...it will change.

When was your IUD taken out? You said July, but did you mean June? Just wondering because July 14th would be not long enough to really establish any type of pattern. June 14th wouldn't really be either.

What type of IUD did you have? Was it one with hormones embedded in it? If so it may take some time for your body to stabilize after removal, just as if you came off birth control. You may notice that your LP gets a little longer once your body is back to functioning normally.

That said, I have an average 11 day LP and was able to conceive 5 times So a LP on the shorter end of normal is okay

Nope, I meant July 14th. I had the copper IUD so no hormones were involved. Ive been tracking my cycle & EWCM since about January now, around the time I stopped BF'ing my youngest daughter. Just looking things over I noticed a pattern emerging.

From what I understand about IUD's & going off of them is that they dont affect your cycles and you should be able to get preggo right away. So far its proven true for me as Ive conceived the first cycle last 2 times after getting it out. One time was with clomid, the other was au natural.

I am going to temp like crazy this cycle & going to use B6 to help if by chance I need it. Hoping it results in a success or I determine if my LP really is to short.

Thank you so much to everyone for your help!

Yeha, if it was a copper IUD then the stuff I was talking about doesn't count

But, like I said a 10 -11 day LP is sufficient to carry a baby to term. Since you ar enot temping you can't be sure if you are Oing and then still having some EWCM after. Still, I would not be worrying about seeing a doctor for a little longer, each time you try to get pregnant is different.

My first baby I got pregnant first try. The second took three months, the third took 9 months, the fourth took 12 months and than the fifth took one try. It really just depends.

Yeah, Im gonna hold off on the doc, unless I notice my O after EWCM this time around, the LP is to short & I dont end up preggo. Then I will probably contact her and ask if they could check my progesterone the next time I O, like the 7days after or whatever. At least get it looked at to see if there is anything there, ya know? But I am for sure going to temp for now and narrow down an O time.

My first took 8-9mos and 2 cycles of clomid. My 2nd 1 cycle of clomid and the 3rd was the first cycle all on our own. This time around we waited 8mos longer til we TTC than I wanted so Im overly anxious about it happening sooner rather than later. I shouldnt be and should just stop worrying, but, Im finding it hard since we did wait so long. Its just...if there is a problem I dont want to wait 3, 4, 5 cycles to figure it out. I dont know if that seems silly, I just hope this baby can be close in age like all my other kids are.

Hi, I'm just lurking, I used to post here when we were ttc and like to check up on some of the girls. Definitely temp to see if you have a short luteal phase, but don't get discouraged if you do. My luteal phase was consistently 7 days and I got pregnant without progesterone supplements. The dr said my prog was "borderline low" and couldn't tell me why I never made it past that 7 day mark. It was super frustrating to ALWAYS get af 7 dpo, but after 7 cycles I got pregnant. I just wanted to respond bc I know how frustrating a short lp is! You feel like you never had a chance. B6 never worked for me, but I have seen in lengthen the lp on other girls' charts. Good luck!!!
