This morning my temp took quite a dive - I even double-checked the BBT to be sure. And on the chart it's quite a dip: from 97.39 to 96.96 Is that normal?
I DID have to get up about 45 minutes earlier than usual . . . Could that have been the reason? Am I doing something wrong? or is this just what happens?

Yep, normal, but what you should do because of getting up early is to mark that temp as Sleep Deprived. (It's one of the choices in the check boxes on FF where you input your temps.)

Ok good. I was wondering if I could note it on there so when I look back it'll show it was an off day

You could also make notes in the note section about it so you can have a reminder of what happened.

If you look at my chart, my temps take quite a few dives I too am hoping I am not doing something wrong (I got off BCP in April and am still stabilizing, I think) so next cycle I will be switching to vaginal temping because my oral temps seem to be more inconsistant. For the past 5 days or so I've been temping both orally and vaginally, writing down my vaginal temps in the notes section while still charting with orals for this cycle, and they seem to be a lot less see-saw-y...

Thanks >Ithink< for the advice.
It's hard for me to say if it's normal or if it's because I woke up early yesterday because this morning it was 97.23, so it dived UP (). But I did take a look at your chart and noticed how your temps were up & down around your AF days. I'm thinking it may have something to do with AF coming to an end? It helps a bunch to be able to look at someone's chart & compare - Thanks for letting me see

OK Now I definitely believe it has something to do with the end of AF - I just looked at someone else's & their chart had a down-then-up dip right at the end of AF. Their chart was marked spotting and there was a "V" on the chart where the temps are recorded, which is what mine looks like

Glad you got it figured out. My temps seem to be the same when AF is around...then go up once it is done.

I actually had to check my BBT today because for the past 3 days my temp has been the same.

Yep... no reason for alarm.

Temps at the beginning of your cycle can be extremely erratic. They tend to regulate themselves the closer you get to O.
