OK Ladies . . . You all know I'm new at this! LOL So here's another ????
I have my alarm set for 7:30am every morning. I keep the BBT next to the cell phone (my alarm clock lol) And the idea is, when the alarm goes off, I check my temp. Then I can always go back to sleep if I need because it has a memory on it. But . . . I'm really disoriented in the morning. And most times I notice that I kinda lay there for a while before I reach for the BBT. Is this affecting my temp? After my chart took ANOTHER dive this morning, all of this occurred to me. I don't MOVE or TALK or ANYTHING during this time. But I am technically awake and even if I'm just YAWNING, I'm still moving right? and of course, my mouth is open too
So these things ARE affecting my temps, right?
How can I make myself more alert?
Will I just get use to grabbing the BBT as soon as the alarm goes off?

I've never had any issue with grabbing the thermometer right after the alarm goes off. I don't think laying there for a few minutes would affect your temp but yawning definitely could. You aren't supposed to open your mouth at all before you take your temp. I don't know if there's anything you can do to become more alert but hopefully just thinking about it will help you wake up enough to take the temp and then go back to sleep! GL

It takes time to train your brain what to do when it's mostly still asleep lol. It's been a long time since I've temp'd and it took me a while to get back into my routine but after a while you will just automatically reach to turn the alarm off and grab your therm and take your temp and not even realize you did it!

Yeah I think it really is going to be about getting use to just grabbing that thermometer and taking my temp. This morning I was sure to take right away and it's exactly the same as yesterday LOL EXACTLY the same! So I must have done it right today I just need to get use to doing it RIGHT AWAY!!
