So, I just started back to work again last week (I'm a teacher) and I can't even count how many people have asked me if I'm pregnant, trying, adding a new addition to the family....etc. UGH. What I want to say is...well, we've been trying for over a year...THANKS for bringing it up.

It doesn't help that I had a m/c over Labor Day weekend last year, and that's coming up.

Ok, vent over.

I can empathize! I've had two miscarriages over the past year, and I'm constantly asked if we're trying for number two. It doesn't help that people are popping up pregnant all around me. They aren't trying, are on birth control, single with one child already and had swore to never be pregnant again, or are unable to keep that tube tying appointment because they failed the pee test.... "come back in 9 months, sweetie."

My mom is also a tailor so she's constantly making baby clothes for all the new babies. I finally told her I didn't want to see any more of the baby booties. Maybe when I'm not having miscarriages I won't mind seeing them, but does she really think I want to oooh and aaah over them with 3 dead babies already?

I hear ya. I get it ALL the time. After going through this I will never ask anyone when they are planning to have a baby unless they bring it up themselves. You just never know what a person is going through....and I would hate to be the person to cause anyone some of the grief I've been going through.

I totally understand how you feel! We had a really hard time getting pregnant between our 1st and 2nd and after our 1st hit about 2 it's all people asked me about, "don't you want another baby? are you guys going to try soon? you shouldn't have so much space between kids!" as if you can control it!

Sorry you have to deal with that! ((hugs))

Thanks ladies...I appreciate all of your responses.

I've been trying to not like ttc get me down, but when everyone seems to bring it up all the time, it's hard! We had open house night tonight and I had two parents from kids last year ask me if I was pregnant and 3 other teachers. *sigh*

I wish people would understand how rude that is, and that it's none of their business! I think a good answer is "When I'm pregnant, you'll be the first to find out" or something (of course they probably wouldn't be the first...).

I so totally understand how you feel!!!! So hate it! Or this one "So, do you want any children"... I am like thinking inside.. duuhhh yes I do,,, I have been trying almost a year, and I can't get pregnant!! Or sometimes I feel like being mean and saying... what do you care if I get pregnant or not?? cause it gets me so mad

So, if they are single I say: Sure I will, when you get married lol... or if the person already has children I say "Sure when you get number 2 or 3"

and then they change the topic LOL

I'll have to try that. Now i just need a comeback for those who are older and won't be having more kids...lol.

I feel the same way! At least one good thing that has come of all this is that I am veerry careful and sensitive about this topic, because like you said, you never know!

Although I have never been the type to just ask someone that question anyway. I really don't get what possesses people to ask. What business is it of theirs if I am pregnant or trying to get pregnant??? If I want you to know, I will tell you!

Yes, me too...I am very sensitive toward others.

And...YES! Exactly!! It's nobody elses darn business.
