As I said before I am breastfeeding my almost one year old. I also had my IUD taken out August 5th so it has been out a month. I have not had a period yet and don't know if that is due to the IUD or breastfeeding or a combination of the two.

I am usually very very dry. But have started to try to chart my cervical fluid. I don't know what to expect or when to expect it. For like 4 days I have had creamy lotiiony cm, then I had clear watery for two days, now I am back to creamy lotiony (off whitish) which has been about 4 more days. I don't know what any of this means. i just TTC most of the time but don't know when to test or anything.

I tested today and negative. Still lots of creamy, yellowy cm.

Usually watery cm means your body is gearing up to O, but it may not actually do it. If you're breastfeeding, it can happen a lot. When I was nursing, we would just bd every time my CM was either watery or egg white. I also temped to help show me if I actually did O. I had been nursing for 9 months without af and got pregnant before she ever showed. I hope that helps a little.
If you really want to know more ab out it, you should get the book Taking Charge of your Fertility. There is a section in there all about breastfeeding and your cycle.

I am not really sure what happens to your CM when you're breastfeeding, but the rule is that you should BD as soon as your CM is clear and very stretchy and slippery, like egg whites. That's when you're most fertile. I would suggest you try taking your Basal Body Temperature, if you can, to get a more complete evaluation of your cycles

I read the book TCOYF and honestly, I still have no idea how to do the whole CM thing. It's just really unclear to me how to check, what to look for, etc. I figure it's of those "I'll know it when I see it" things and maybe, since I am somewhat freshly off BCP (as of april), my CM is still all messed up and I haven't "seen" it yet. But I think it's a really hard thing to do accurately, even harder than temping.
