Ovulation Temps: Gradual increase vs. sharp jump

Hey gals!

Just wondering about something I've noticed in my charts. Most months, I have a sharp increase in my temp on the day I O, but for the last few cycles, my temp rise has been gradual over a few days.

Two cycles ago, I went on a progestin-only birthcontrol pill for one month. I had some bad side-effects and now I am using the FAM. I noticed this change after going off the pill.

Is there a reason for a gradual increase vs a sharp change?

I'm not sure if the birth control pills would cause that gradual shift. I know that I sometimes have a sharp transition after O, and sometimes it's gradual and I don't take any BCP at all.
