How much does it mess up your chart if you adjust your temp often? I mean like if you take your temp at different times in the morning than you normally do.

Back when I used to chart when TTC#1 it was easy, I worked out of the home, I had my alarm set and i would take it same time everyday. On the weekends Id keep my alarm set and take my temp and just go back to sleep. Now that I have a 4 yr old it is harder. Usually we get up at the same time during the week but on the weekends i hate to set my alarm because it will wake him up (his room is next to ours) and once he is up he wont go back to sleep. So I end up just waiting until he wakes up which is usually an hour or so later than on school days. Also if he is on break from school i'll treat it like a weekend and then I end up with several days out of a cycle that might be adjusted due to taking the temp an hour later than normal.
Actually this cycle was a bit worse because I started out during a school break and ive been adjusting all week because I have been getting up an hour earlier everyday since school is back in session.

Sorry for the long explanation but Im just wondering if adjusting is really that big of a deal that I should worry about it if I do this 2 days a week (weekends)? As far as I can tell from temps and CF/CP my chart is correct for when it tells me I Od.

I asked a similar question once around daylight savings. =) I was told that it only took about 3 days for your body to adjust to a new time. So if you have been waking up an hour earlier consistently, you'd only need to adjust the first three or so.

My sleep cycle has gotten so insane lately that unless I'm up several hours in advance or later, I record what it says. I personally would just record what it says for an hour off. Shouldn't make too much difference. You'd have to use your judgment if it's around O time, of course. If you're up too early, you had EWCM the day before, and that early temp has you on the high side of your pre-O temps, you might want to go ahead and bump it up.

My 3, 4, and 5 DPO temps were all freakishly early this cycle, but FF still has my O date correct even though the temps were at the coverline. I guess it took into account my cm more than the temp.
