I bought a thermometer online, its tan with a pink end. It seems to be low. I've never gotten a 98. Should I get a new one?

You could buy a new one. The one you have is probably fine. I've been temping since 2007 and I've never NEVER had a 98. Except when I was preggers. Everyone is different.

I'd say if you are getting a good byphasic chart consistently, your thermometer is probably fine.

Sounds fine to me. I also don't hit 98 very often unless I'm pregnant. Usually it's somewhere in the 96 range pre-O and the 97 range post-O.

Ok thanks guys. I'm going to plan on taking my temperature at 4:56am since EVERY night I wake up exactly at this time.

I would think it's fine. I know my body temperature runs a little higher, I usually hit 98 during my days past ovulation. You did order a basal body thermometer right?
