how are you supposed to temp when you set your alarm for just before you think the kids will wake up - like 6 am. And every morning your kids get you up and yelling at them 1-3 hours earlier than that.

yes today my day started at 4am - I didn't go to bed till 11:30 - takes me around 1-2 hours to fall asleep. I am not even sure if I got 3 hours of sleep.

They were sleeping till around 6:30, then I replaced the battery in my thermometer and set the alarm and they start doing this.

I make sure to go to bed early (it also takes me awhile to go to sleep) and I tend to temp around 4am or when ever I'm sure that odds are everybody will still be in bed. Then I just go back to sleep. My kids don't like to wake up at any really consistent time so this is the only way I've been able to make it work. HTH.

ditto the temp and then go back to sleep. It's likely the best way to gaurantee you'll consistently be able to temp at the same time. Of course keep in mind that you should aim to get to bed at a decent time as well because staying up late/lack of sleep can affect your temp as well.

11:30 is a decent time - I want to be able to spend some time with my hubby when he gets home.

it is not helping that ds#2 is teething and up a few times a night, and occasionally ds #1 needs me in the middle of the night.

I can pretty much count on getting up twice between 12am and 4am with one or both of the kids... guess I'll just have wing it.

Just do the best that you can. The more consistent you are the better, but sometimes with kids that just doesn't work.
