I went to my OB/GYN today. I've been charting for 8 months. On average I O around CD 21 and my LP is always 10-11 days long. I always start spotting around DPO 8. I've been taking Vitamon B6 for 7 cycles, but it hasn't made a difference in my LP. Today, my OB/GYN prescribed me Prometrium. She said that looking at my charts, it seems as though I have a short luteal phase caused by low progesterone. She said that I should start the Prometrium either the day that I get a positive OPK or the following day. I should take the Prometrium for 17-18 days. Then, I should do a preg test. If it is negative, take the Prometrium for another 7 days, and then test again. If it is still negative, then stop taking the Prometrium and let my period come.
She suggests trying this for at least 3 months. If I don't get pg, then she wants to test hubby's sperm. Then, possibly put me on Clomid.
Has anyone else taken Prometrium because of a short LP? If so, did you get pg by taking it?
I'm really hoping that this works, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up.
