Hi ladies, I have never posted here before, but I am looking for advice, though maybe you would have some.

I am confused, wondering if any of you might have some advice.

I take my OPK's first thing in the morning, because I drink so much through the day my pee is alway watered down. So, through some research I found that you can get a false neg by taking them too early in the AM. So, sunday am, I used a new kind because I was out of the IC's. (I missed saturday). Yesterday morning, at like 11, I had been up for about an hour, but hadnt peed since around 6 am, so pee was not diluted. To my surprise it was a BFP, or atleast VERY close to being one. It was hard to tell if the test line was slightly lighter or not they were so close. So I took 2 more throughout the ay, all BFN, and I thought it could have been from diluted pee and expected a good dark one this morning....BFN. So, also, throughout the weekend, me and DH both thought my cervix felt softer, and more open than normal, but then yesterday and today, low, firm and closed.

So, if I did ovulate, i am wondering if it could have been sunday at some point, and I just didn't have the surge yet when i tested sunday am.

Either that or I didn't ovulate, and the BFP OPK was a fluke.

What do you ladies think? I have not been temping because I have irregular sleeping patterns, and a 2 year old, so I often get out of bed and then 10 min later rember to temp, but by then it is too late. I don't have regular cycles at all, my last cycle was like 70ish days. So, I have no idea. I am confused.

Also, I didn't have ewcm, but I was very wet feeling through out the weekend.

You can get a positive OPK and not ovulate. The +OPK just means your body is attempting to ovulate, but doesn't guarantee you will. If you don't, your body will just try again later. If your cycles are very long, this can happen a few times before you finally ovulate.

So the +OPK tells you your body is trying to ovulate. You have to track CM or temps (or both) to tell whether the attempt was successful.

The wet feeling you noticed is CM, even if you didn't see any. This is called "vaginal sensation." You don't need to visible CM to track ovulation, you need only pay attention to sensation and keep a record of what you feel each day. Ovulation is confirmed when the the CM feels:

1. More and more wet, over a matter of days
2. Slippery
3. Dries up abruptly

When you notice going from having a very slippery feeling to suddenly feeling much drier the next day, ovulation is closely associated with that last day of feeling slippery. If you simply notice feeling wet, but not slippery - it means no ovulation. If you notice feeling wet, slippery, but don't dry up....no ovulation.

It definitely takes some practice to track sensation, but there are special charting systems just for this. It enables you to tell whether your body tried to ovulate or DID ovulate.
