Yes, there is a specific pattern you'll need to look for. First, take note of what you feel as you walk around during the day. You can feel CM even if there isn't enough to see. Also, EWCM can show up any time your body tries to ovulate, even if ovulation is unsuccessful. When ovulation occurs, the CM will go through 3 stages. The CM will:
1. Develop and change over a matter of days (minimum 3)
2. Become slippery
3. Dry up abruptly
If it doesn't go through all 3 stages, then you would assume ovulation did not occur. If it does go through all 3 stages, ovulation occurs closest to the LAST day you notice a slippery feeling (with or without visible CM).
