I have my BBT - Can I start taking my temps tomorrow?

I understand that you have to increase in temp to know that you are close to O. & that you need to take OT around that time.

My concern is missing my O when do you start taking OT? Somebody said to purchase the cheaps ones since I am so irregular... any help on which OT to purchase would be great.

I have similar cycles to you. Average cycle length for me is 42/43 days. I usually ovulate around CD 27. To start out I went on Amazon and bought something similar to these: Amazon.com: Wondfo One Step Ovulation (LH) Test Strips, 50-Count: Health & Personal Care
It was a pkg of 50 strips for like $10. I figured I would need quite a few since I had such long cycles and I had no clue when to test and figured I would go through a lot. After 2 cycles I was not using as many.

oh, and Of course you can start temping tomorrow. I think my first cycle temping I started on CD 18.

When your temp goes above coverline you have already ovulated. Start charting and you will start to see trends.

yup the temp shift is AFTER O.

The coverline (the line drawn horizontally across your chart once ovulation is detected) is a visual tool to help you easily see your pre- and post-ovulation temperatures. It has no physiological significance whatsoever so where it is placed does not have much importance as long as it helps you to see your ovulation pattern.

you might want to take a course on charting your fertility. Fertilityfriend.com has a good one. Its the one I took when I wanted to start charting. It will give you a good introduction to charting your fertility.
