I'm not a regular poster here by any means, but I do like to peek in from time to time and thought you ladies might be able to help me with my question.

For the past 3-4 cycles, I keep ovulating earlier and earlier. About 6 months ago my normal ovulation day was generally between cd15-18. Then it hopped up to cd13 for a couple months. Last month it was cd11 or 12 and now this month I'm wondering if it isn't cd10-11??!!! What is going on? If it keeps going any earlier, I will end up pregnant because my ladycomp declares me possibly fertile on cd6. Not that I wouldn't like a surprise, but dh would be floored.

Do you have any idea what is causing this?? I am only 32...last time I checked. My last baby is almost 16 months old and I stopped nursing him at 8 months. Could it just be that my body is getting back to "normal" after bf'ing? But that was 8 months ago.

Any ideas would be helpful. I'm stumped.

It's very normal for the time of ovulation to move from cycle to cycle. It's especially normal when you're nursing and during the first 6 - 8 months after you wean!

But you are correct to be concerned about the Ladycomp. Ladycomp takes your temperature information and then just makes "Rhythm" or "Calender" method calculations to predict your fertile time. It *assumes* your cycles will all be similar. If you ovulate really early, the machine won't know that in advance. I know several women who have conceived while trying to avoid with Ladycomp because of that. If you ovulate really late, you have to consider yourself fertile for a lot longer than you actually are. Modern NFP methods can account for both early and late ovulation though, so you aren't ever caught off guard!
