Hi all!

I just joined this site today and am new to the TTC-world (if interested, my intro can be found in the Welcome section)

I just started charting today and, to be expected, I am awash in a sea of confusion. Most of the stuff I will figure out in time I am sure, but one thing you can't really figure out on your own right away is which is the best resource to use.

I've seen a lot of links to FertilityFriend, so of course I joined and started there... I also have an iPhone so downloaded a few apps for it too... think the names were PinkPad, My Calendar, and a few more. I've also downloaded and printed off the free JustMommies chart and started using it today.

So, I guess my question is, which site do you use? If you use FertilityFriend, do you use the free or the paid (VIP) version? Is the VIP worth the money? Additionally, what's the best app to use on your smart phone? And by best, I mean something that's easy to navigate, can be locked (as we will be TTCing in secret), with message board access for support, etc.

I also really like boards where users can just integrate pictures into their posts- of their charts, themselves, BFPs, etc. Always good to have that on the PC, but it would be great to have that on iPhone too. Even though I just downloaded some apps today, I'm already becoming annoyed with posts where users ask for advice about the photo they posted... and you can't access it on your smart phone.

I am definitely rambling so I will be quiet now, but any opinions are very welcome!!

Hi an I hope your TTC journey is short! Charting can definitely be overwhelming sometimes but it is also very good at learning what your body is up to. I personally use Fertility Friend and really love it. I have the VIP membership so that I can compare charts and I use the forums sometimes, although JM is where I spend most of my time. The FF forums don't have the same close community feeling that JM has, in my opinion. For just charting, the free membership is totally adequate. It really depends on how much you feel you need. I wish I had advice on the phone apps. I don't have any on my phone. I can access FF from mine so if I need to add data and I'm not near my computer, I can just do it online on my phone.

I hope I've helped. Feel free to post any questions you have. The women here at JM are awesome and very helpful and supportive!

Hi again pepper!
Thanks for the advice, it is really appreciated! I know what you mean about the FF forum not being as nice as JM- I've already kind of noticed that, and I haven't even been to the FF forum if that makes sense!
If you're interested, there is one smart phone forum app- called Pink Pad. It's kind of irritating because you can't see the photos people have posted (as said above), but other than that... it's support and answers on the go if you need.
Looking forward to posting more!

Hi Khaleesi and welcome I actually asked this question a few days ago too. Right now I am using Fertility Friend and Fertilichart http://www.babymed.com/tools/fertilc...094/2011/07/21 I like Fertility Friend the best. Someone also told me to try Taking Charge of Your Own Fertilty, but I haven't explored that page yet.

Hi am welcome here and to JM. I am Carrie the host of fertility charting... you are more than welcome to use us to post charts, pics of you, and BFPs. once you get preggo I highly suggest you join the due date club for the month that you are due.

I think you have to reach a certain number of post before you can post pictures.

I use fertilityfriend.com but did all my chatting here

Hi Irish, thanks for the referrals! Really appreciate it. I think TCYOF has a mobile app and I have that, but I really like this site and starting to get used to fertility friend now- or the free version, at least.

Hi Carrie! Thank you for the suggestions. I've already seen all those nifty due date clubs and am really quite excited about joining them- hopefully as soon as possible! Thanks also for the info about fertility friend, sounds like it's a good resource but just not the best for support, so I will probably do as many have been here.

Thanks!

I like your user name

I use pinkpad on my ipod, but last time we were TTC I used the TCOYF software on my laptop to figure things out, and then resubmitted them into FF for sharing. LOL sooo complicated. I keep my ipod by my bed, so pink pad is just easier.

Morning alice. Thanks re: username. DH loves it for a girl's name, but I'm worried it might be a little bit out there- even for us and we like unusual names!

Thank you for the info! Pink pad is okay too and I continue to use it, but would prefer to get the app that Fertility Friend uses but I forget which one.

Anywho! Will all come together in time I am sure.

I was going to say lol. My husband and I are fans of the book series, but don't think i could name a child after the dragon princess. If you figure out the TCOYF app let me know. i want it!

I use nfpcharting.com and the app for my iphone. That site goes with the Billings Ovulation Method, so if you're doing another kind of fertility charting it won't really work for that.
