I work late most days (2-3am) so I usually do not go to bed until late. I had been taking my temp at 8am, but recently I've been waking up before that time comes, usually around 5:30 or 6am, getting a drink and going back to bed. On those nights that I do wake up I reset my alarm for 9am to make it at least 3 hours of sleep that I get.... but on my chart, how much of a difference would that hour make? Is it worth trying to adjust or is it close enough?

I'm getting nervous because I should O in the next couple days and I want my temps to be super accurate because I haven't been Oing lately so I really need to know what's going on. This cycle determines if Clomid will be used next cycle.

Fertility friend will tell you to leave the temp as is and just make note of it on your chart. It could skew it by about .2 degrees, but I don't think that's enough to not be able to detect ovulation. My husband works weird hours, so some days I wake up early, and I'll take my temp then and adjust it to my normal waking time (.1 degree for every half hour), but if I can get back to sleep, I use the later temp.

I know for me, personally, it doesn't make a difference (at least not a noticeable one) if my temp is off by an hour. I think that as long as you're getting the right amount of sleep and it's fairly close to your usual time, you won't have any problem pinpointing ovulation.

Good luck!! I hope you get a clear ovulation and catch that eggie!!
