I usually temp at 9:00am. Last night I was up and down multiple times during the night, the last time I woke up was 7:40 so I just decided to temp then since I wasn't sure if I'd fall back asleep, and if I did it's just over an hour before I'd normally temp... would this make my temperature higher or lower than it normally would be? When I took it, it was 97.72... I used the BBT adjuster and it said my 9am temp would have been 97.99.

Is this higher or lower than it would have been if I would have slept the whole night?

It varies from person to person. For me, temping even a half hour different can throw my temp for a loop, but a restless night sleep and being up and down a lot doesn't seem to affect it (I think it's because that's the norm for me). If it would affect it for you, it would probably make it a little higher. But don't worry about one temp. Just make note of it, so that when you are looking at the big picture you'll be able to understand why that temp was in a different range (if that happens)

Oh and one extra note, I'm thinking about discarding the temp all together because I also woke up around 5:30 so the 7:40 temp would be weird too.

This just has to be so complicated...

OKay thank you... it ended up being the same temp as yesterday's ... so I might just leave it because it doesn't look off at all I just wanted to be able to tell if I had an implantation dip or anything... 7dpo so I'm stalking my own chart. I keep logging into FF as if something is going to change. I'm a little loony these days hahaha.

You're not the only one! I log on several times a day thinking that'll magically change something too. I think it has to be some kind of mental disease....

I wouldn't worry too much about that temp. You have the white circle so you know it wasn't an ideal temp. Personally, I would rather have a temp that wasn't ideal than no temp at all.

i dont want to get you down. Not everyone has an implantation dip, and some have one without getting a + anyway but *usually* its not considered a significant dip if it doesnt fall below the coverline. Your chart looks great even without a dip. Good luck hun

Thank you ladies. I have another question about this dumb temping game.

This morning, I woke up at 7:30 not knowing it was 7:30... thought it was like maybe 4 something so I rolled over a few times, then sat up, then looked out the window to see it was light out, THEN looked at my clock and took my temp. I figured it would have been super high but ended up being only 97.56. I adjusted it, to 97.86 on my chart, but how much of a difference do you think those movements would have made?

And my next question is, at what DPO does your temp usually start to fall pre-af?? Like how many days before the witch shows her face?

I think it varies person to person. I've taken my temp, then gone to the bathroom, gotten hubby's work stuff ready, got back in bed, temped 5 minutes later for the heck of it, and it made a few hundreths of a degree difference. I know of others where it makes a huge difference.

As for dropping before AF, I'm not a good person to answer, because I have progesterone issues, so mine starts dropping pretty soon. However, it doesn't go below the cover line until the day AF shows up.

why did you adjust your temp? for me it doesnt make much difference unless i get up and walk around. if you were still in bed just rolling around or whatever i wouldnt worry. if this was the only reason you changed your temp I would change it back myself.

For me my temp has to drop below the coverline and I start AF that day

I just adjusted it because of the time difference. It was an hour and a half before my usual temping time. Thanks for the input!!

Goodness I had a HUGE temp spike today. I hope that means something good.... never before has my BBT been this high!

Of course it's only one day though...

i see. personally I dont do that. FF will give you and open circle and put less weight on that temp compared to the others, however this is only really important when you are waiting to O or to confirm that you Od.

If your chart continues I believe it will be considered triphasic. Sometimes these lead to pregnancies, but sometimes not.... GOOD LUCK
