I've started taking my temp any time i wake up in the night, so i can get in the habit of doing it. Problem is my son has been waking up a lot. I sometimes get 4 hours at a time. But not always... my temps are all over the place too. In one night i got temps of 98.89 and 98.0. How can it very so much. I'm using all my old tricks, vaginally temping to try to get things more even... but its not working

A .09 temp difference really isn't that huge of a difference (at least not for me). However, it is REALLY REALLY REALLY important that you take your temp at the same time everyday, preferably after 4 hours of sleep. Temps change on average .1 degree for every half hour from when you usually temp. So if you usually temp at 6 and you temp at 8 one day, it could be a .4 degree difference!

yeah, .09 is one thing. But i'm geting a .89 degree difference! I'm wondering if i'm sick now, because i'm running 99.5 orally in the middle of the day. Could explain the craziness. I used to work nights and would temp at 4:30 in the afternoon every after my day sleep. But now with a kid, its not so easy. Plus i don't get to sleep after my night shifts anymore lol

Oops! You'd think with a math degree I'd be able to subtract. Have you considered a cervical mucus only method, like Billings? That would probably be more accurate and helpful since you have a work schedule and a little guy that prevent you from getting consistent sleep.

Hope you feel better and your fever goes down!
