All I know about temping is that you are supposed to take it at the same time in the morning. I have never temped before but I would like to start trying.
So my question is sometimes my oldest calls me in to her room anytime around 4 or 5:30 am to tuck her back in. Its not all the time but when she does that it is hard for me to go back to sleep so I end up just laying in bed until 6:30 when my youngest wakes up.
What would I do those days for those temps?? Do you have to take it right when you wake up from sleep? Does it matter that Im laying in bed but not sleeping?/
You need to take your temp at the same time every morning. If you wake up earlier, you take it earlier. It will show on your chart that you took it earlier than usual.
FertilityFriend.com has a temperature corrector for these incidents, although its not always recommended as its not 100% accurate.
Someone else mentioned to me that their preference is to correct the temp if its less that 2 hours before their normal time otherwise they discard it.
When you discard a temperature, it still shows it on your chart but it just doesn't count it in (if that makes sense?)
Hope that helped you a bit! I am in my first month of charting
Here is what I would do (I have 2 young kids that sometimes wake up over night.
Which circumstance is more often? Does the early one wake you up more or do you get to 6:30 more?
If its the latter then I would set your temp time as 6:30. If your other wakes you up early take you temp before going to the older one.
Taking your temp at the same time is important but it is also very important to have 3 consecutive hours of uninterupted sleep. You cant get up, put the child to bed go back to bed and take your temp at 6:30. Take it at 4 or 5 or whatever
I have only ever used a temp adjuster once. If its within an hour or 2 of my normal time then I just record the exact time I took the temp and FF gives me an open circle so I know to keep that in mind when interpreting my chart
