I know you are supposed to take your temp before you get out of bed but my alarm is out of reach. how much of a difference would it make if I consistently take my temp as I turn off the Alarm and had to the shower

Moving around does not give an accurate reading because once you start to move around your body temperature can either rise or fall do to the house temp, your movements, etc. Water of course on top of it will change your natural body temp as well.

An at rest temp is the most accurate and doing it the same time every day gives the best accurate readings.

If you choose to temp orally you also have to take into account if you sleep with you mouth open or closed. If you temp vaginally and use a heating pad or electric blanket the readings will not be as accurate either.

I hope this helps
