Hello ladies! I am new to the charting world, and for the first time actually trying to conceive with my husband. I need some advice for BBT charting. I think I have the CM stuff down as I have been watching it for a few years now. My first question is about taking my BBT. I wake up with an alarm clock Monday thru Friday at 4:30am. Is it okay to take my temp after getting up to turn off the alarm then laying back down to take my temp? Secondly, how is it going to affect my temping if I get up around 10 or 11 on the weekends?

Thanks in advance!

Yay to starting to TTC! It's exciting to know at what stage your body is it....
As long as you have had at least 4 hrs of sleep you should be goosd... Taking the temp at the same time just assures that your readings would be consistant. As long as you are still in bed and you did not do any major activity before you temp you should be fine... so turning off your alarm should be ok...
Good Luck hope you get your crosshairs on your chart pretty soon!
Don't forget... Day one of your chart is your first day of your cycle!

On the weekend you should try to still temp at the same time as the week. You can set your alarm temp and go back to sleep and be fine. I used to have to temp before the sun came up or my temps would be off. Now I work nights so I just do the best I can... I agree, turning off the alarm should be fine.

It'd be better if you temp at the same time every day, even at the weekend. I recommend ovufriend, it has really good tools to chart!

my doc said as long as it's before you get moving, it should be fine. It's more about your body at rest, not so much the time she said. I've heard a lot of people say to do it at the same time everyday though - and if you can do that, then great!

I really recommend to temp at the same time. When I had a crazy busy time and it wasn't possible to temp at the same time my chart was completely useless. SO now even if I don't need to wake up I Have my alarm set at the same time every day. And it looks much better now, take a look:
