I'm a first timer at TTC this is my first cycle.. I have been researching and researching AND researching. My DH and I decided to start trying in the middle of my NuvaRing cycle. (I guess this was a bad decision) I figured I would take NuvaRing out, bleed, and start a whole new cycle and begin tracking my CM and my temp.
I began a new NuvaRing on June 15th and took it out June 24th.
I started a heavy period June 28th.
My period stopped July 2nd.
I have been tracking my temp and CM since the start of my period (on the 28th). My CM has been lotion/school glue/white sticky since my period ended (and still the same today).
Today I purchased an ovulation kit and for the heck of it I used one. I got a positive?!? I'm not supposed to ovulate (according to online charts and calculators) until July 12th. I did notice a rise in my temp on July 2nd but I didn't think anything of it. We did have sex July 6th. Have I missed my window??
Your body will probably need some time to settle back into its rhythm. How big was the temp rise? Ovulation is usually confirmed 3 days after it occurs. Women can ovulate really early or really late, CD 7 or CD 23. Usually it's in the teens (I'm around CD 16-18), but you'll need to get a few cycles completed to see what your norm is (and maybe several cycles, I'm having my own confusion right now).
If your temp rise was .2 degrees above the previous six (generally speaking), and remains high for three days, you can safely assume you've ovulated. My pre-O temps range from 96.9 and 97.4 and then spike up to 97.7 to 98.3. You'll be different, of course, and you'll just have to figure out what your body usually does. Not super helpful, I'm sorry. Good luck though!
