Contrary to popular opinion, sexual position has nothing to do with conception.

However, to improve your chances of conceiving a girl or boy you may want to consider using the Shettles Method. Timing intercourse closer or farther from ovulation is what may assist you in conceiving a certain gender.

"Boy" sperm swim faster, but die sooner. "Girl" sperm swim slower, but live longer. So to conceive a girl, you want to have intercourse a few days prior to ovulation. When cervical mucus is present, it can sustain sperm life for up to 5 days. Intercourse that occurs when mucus is FIRST noticed during your cycle will sustain the sperm cells. The "girl" ones will live longer than the "boy" ones and hopefully be all ready waiting when you ovulate!

To conceive a boy, you want to have intercourse as close to ovulation as possible - because the "boy" sperm will swim faster than the "girl" sperm to reach the already waiting egg.

So, observe your cervical mucus daily! When it first appears during your cycle - have intercourse for a day or two, then WAIT until at least 3 days after ovulation has been confirmed.

This is just a theory, there is still a chance you will conceive a boy - but according to the theory, your chances are improved.

the upside down bicycel was just something that someone made up on here ...It means after sex you put your feet and legs up in the air and move your legs like you are riding a bicycle...IT is pretty ridiculous!!!! lol... the sperm enter the uterus literally seconds after ejaculation...the only left outside is seminal fluid...see the sperm leave the seminal fluid and swim through the cm to get to the uterus , but it happens so fast....think of the seminal fluid as a bus to get to where they need to be....The idea of the upside down bicycle was to try to work the sperm in there...but it is the dumbest thing lol....the sperm get in there on their own accord....pretending to ride a bicycle upside down will make ya look goofy and make your legs and back hurt but wont help you get preggo faster ......

As for the original question any position that you ave intercourse in can result in pregnancy!!!!!!..so switch it up and have fun

I read that when your DH "does the deed" that he shouldn't be ALL the way inside you.

I've read the exact opposite. You want the sperm deposited as close to the cervix as possible...

And that he should stay in until the erection is weakened. I am not sure I believe that it really matters though, as Sandy said the sperm swim through the cervix immediately.

Unknowingly the Shettles Method worked for me. We BD`ed only once on my O day. So i had a boy.

Next time i would try to BD as far as from O day.

I wish I would have known 1.5 weeks ago that the bicycle didn't work!
I spent 30 minutes with my legs propped up against the wall trying to watch Monday nite football upside down!

the bicycle doesn't work for me. I have to lay with my butt up and my shoulders down. Kinda like a baby in fetal position? I did that with both the m/c. I tried bicycle all the other months I didn't conceive. So, I agree, change it up a little.
