yes, that helps some. i know i o'd last cycle and i had ewcm after o, so i don't really know what to think. it seems like it usually happens closer to af. also, i check internally so maybe that is confusing. i read once that breastfeeding causes less cm so that is why i started that way. geez, how much will i have when i finally wean her?? so what should i call my days when there is only a little stretch?[/b]

Checking internally isn't the most accurate way to observe mucus, because there is always moisture there. During infertile times of the cycle, the mucus "dries up" as it passes over glands in the vagina called the Pockets of Shaw...and a woman is able to appreciate this lack of mucus externally. Checking internally disrupts that process and so you would think you are fertile much more often than you actually are.
So yes, STOP the internal checks and your charts should make more sense. You can note what happens when you wipe, yes - but you can also learn to make mucus observations based on what you FEEL at the vulva as you walk around during the day.
