The ones that I had said that if the test line is not as dark or darker than the control line, it is negative. So on those days that it is there, but lighter--does it mean O is approaching or leaving? I know the dark line would mean you are about to.. But do the lighter ones have any significance--or do they just appear for no reason.

I don't use opks, but from what I know, if it's before a + (as dark or darker) then your surge is coming, if it's after a + then ur surge is leaving. Some ladies con't to test after a + until they get a - Some ladies will have more than one + in a row. I hope that helps.

It could mean something, it could not mean something. For some women they get darker and darker leading up to O and some they don't. You'll just kind of have to wait and see.

As you are testing and as you are approaching your LH surge, your line will go from light, darker, really dark, then back down the way it came up. I do test until it goes from neg to pos back to neg so that I can better pinpoint my O date. Its very common for women to have two to three days of pos opks. Also keep in mind that you always have LH in your body. Just keep in mind when your charting that opks are considered a seconday sign, meaning that FF or any other charting software relies on your bbt and your cm as your primary signs to determine your O date, so its very important to notes these on your chart everyday. HTH!

Definately continue to test...and I completely agree with Mari Posa...I didn't realize you can have more than one LH surge...I stopped using OPK's...luckily I am participating in a health study and they confirmed that I actually had my real surge 3 days later...after having 2 days of negative OPK's...had I listened to my primary symptoms I would have noticed that my temps were low and my CM didn't get to the right EW consistency until CD 19... so use both hand in hand...and I would continue to test after a positive OPK just to be sure it was your true surge and not just a beginning of a surge.
