just a quick question. This is the first month i have tried to track my ovulation. I had deep cramps a few days before my predicted ovulation date (used one of those calculator things online) then on the day it said i was supposed to o the cramps where gone. but the day before the cramps were horrible. My question, was i ovulating when i had pain, or does it not hurt any longer after the egg is released/on the o date?

it could be gas pains, it could have been ovulation pains. I usually get ov pains around ov time but I'm not sure whether it indicates that it is happening at that very moment or getting ready to release or already released. Another way to to keep track would be temping and checking your cervix opening. when it's open, then it's either time to get to bding or you are about to start your period or on it. The only way I could figure out the opening was finding it during my period. So no I know exactly how it feels when it's open. Good luck!

Without charting it is really hard to say for sure. It definitely could be O pains. You should try charting next month and see if the cramps coincide with your O date. The calendar method is really not a very accurate way to predict ovulation.

Keep in mind that every women is different. I don't have O pains every cycle, when I do experience them though I cramp for a few days before O, mild cramps on the side. I have been able to pinpoint for myself with my charts (when I do have bad O pains) it tends to be the day after I have O'ed. Charting is definitely the best way to have your signs along with your temps gives you a better indication of what your body is doing.
