Hi,

I'm trying to chart this month for the first time. I'm using FF. I've avoiding charting in the past b/c I work shifts that vary quite a bit. I work as a nurse in a hospital setting, and I'll switch from daylight to overnight shift within a week. For example, tonight I work 3 to 11PM, but this weekend I work 11PM to 7AM, and then on Monday I'm off. FF says it's still possible to chart. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with this or any good advice.

Thanks,
Cindy

I'm interested in this as well.

I'm a physician doing my residency training so I work really odd hours as well as taking 24-hour call every 4 days (at which time I rarely get a chance to even ENTER the on-call room, let alone sleep for 3 hours straight before taking a BBT!).

Input would be well appreciated!

You have a couple of options. You can simply take your temperatures after 3 hours of consecutive sleep each day - no matter when that happens. You should still be able to see the overall pattern.

If not, you also have the option of learning to chart using mucus-only system. The Creighton Model and the Billings Ovulation Method are both mucus-only methods of charting, and go into much more specific detail in terms of understanding your mucus patterns - so that you don't require any additional data (temps, cervix, etc.).

ShawnaCAN - Thanks for the tip on the mucus-only system (and the links to the website information). I may end up going to that if I can't get reliable temps.

Tygrss - I hope you get more sleep!!! Residency Training has to be so tough. I admire you. Good luck with charting.
