I was wondering how important it is taking your temp the same time every morning. My husband gets up around 3:30am. He works from 5-3 (M-Th). And if he works overtime he gets up at 5:00am (F & Sa). So I do wake up, but not fully. I usually take my temp when I do get up later. Lately, my dd has been sick so I'm lucky if I even temp. The past two days I took my temp at 6:30 and 6:00. I just don't know if I could take my temp the same time every day. Plus sometimes dd wakes up in the middle of the night and I have to go in and give her the pacifer of pat her back. If I'm a half hour late will it make a big difference?

i'm not an expert with this, but i think as long as you get 3 consecutive hours of sleep you should be fine. at least, that's what i've heard

and sometimes i mess up and don't temp at the same time every morning.... it hasn't messed my chart up yet, lol

You should try to be pretty consistent, as much as life will allow you. a 1/2 hour doesn't make THAT much difference i don't think, but like i said try to be consistent!

Thanks for answering. I'll try and be close in times. Today I didn't even get to temp. dd is teething and is up early lately. Hopefully this won't go on much longer and I can really start temping. Thanks again.

To have an accurate chart u should temp at the same time every morning.....30min either way won't change your temp/chart. And 3 consecutive hours is preferred. I temp at 530am cause that's when dh's alarm goes off, then I stay in bed till I get up for work. On the weekends, my body automatically wakes up between 5-6 to temp. Some time DS wakes me up anywhere between 2-5 then I temp at my usual time (i do go back to sleep after he wakes me up) and my temps are usually fine.

Good Luck!
