FF says to report the most fertile of fluids:

No matter how you observe your cervical fluid (with your hands, toilet tissue, or in your underwear, or internally if necessary) the way to record it will be the same. Always record your most fertile type of cervical fluid, even if you noticed more than one type of cervical fluid in a given day or even if it is scant. This is so you will not miss a potentially fertile day and so that you have a consistent way of keeping track of your cervical fluid from cycle to cycle.[/b]

I have been reading a lot of the Billings method (tracking CM etc) and one of the things I have noticed is there is a small mucus plug that forms several times a month (once for stopping sperm from entering before the fertile period, once after O) and as Billings states, that mucus plus is lost when the cervix needs to open (for Af or whatever). Gosh I'm not being very technical here...anyhow, I know that just before AF last cycle, I had a long stringy piece of CM that was slightly green tinged (freaked me out!). I think that was the clue that AF was coming because that plug came out. Now I could be wrong here but perhaps what you saw was that plug coming out as you get ready to O. I need to read up more (woomb.org, fascinating stuff there) but it's what I 'think' I saw at the end of my last cycle.
Regardless of that last theory, you want to chart your most fertile CM
