The thermal shift is a second series of temps after you O that are once again .2 degrees higher than your previous temps (in other words, a triphasic chart). Triphasic meaning three different shifts in temp (your pre o temps, post o temps, then a second series of higher post o temps). Even though you may have a triphasic chart, it does not necessarily mean that you are pg. On the flip side, you may not have a triphasic chart and still be pg (perfect example is my chart). The implantation dip is really a theory, some pg charts have them some don't. Some non pg charts have them as well. There is a point in the luteal phase where estrogen surpasses progesterone and because of this you see a dip in the charts. I can't recall the exact figure but out of all the pg charts that FF did an analysis on, they found that about 22% (around there) had an implantation dip and about 11% of non pg charts also showed an implantation dip. The real key in determing whether you are pg or not by looking at your chart is if you see your temps staying elevated and sustained, especially after AF is due. I hope this answer your question. GL!
