I have charted before. Last year while trying to conceive Logan. I was able to chart and take my temp while laying in bed before I moved or got out of bed, which is the best way to chart I hear.

But now I have Logan who's getting up a few times in the night and can have me up anywhere between 2:30am and 5:00am on a nightly basis.

How can I accurately take my temp? I haven't started yet (crikey I don't even know where my Basel temp is!)...but how can I do this? I don't think I can, can I?

Thanks ladies!
Joanne

Let me first say that Logan is absolutely adorable!!!!!! Now you temping troubles...well, the best you can do is figure out Logan's schedule and then figure out when you should temp. If he wakes up at 2:30am regularly then temp at that time. As long as you get 3 hours of sleep before that then you are fine. Good luck!

Thanks so much! He's pretty much like clockwork getting up around 2:30am!

I'm going to give it 3 months of TTC and then I'll start charting. Hopefully by then he may (please God) be sleeping thru the night and I can temp at a bloody decent hour!!!!!

Thanks and good luck to you all!

I have a really hard time getting accurate temps here myself. I do the best I can but get a lot of open circles on my chart when Leo decides to wake me up an hour early. I just try to do my best to temp at the same time.

When my babes are about 4 to 6 months old I start charting, we may not be TTC at that point, but to get myself into the habit.

We co-sleep so I am not actually getting out of bed with the baby, so that makes it a bit easier.

I usually would temp at 5, that might work for you if your little one is up at 5 anyway.

You may not be able to follow the rules to a T but doing it as close as you can works too.

I if you look back at my charts while they are up and down many of them cuz i wasn't ovulating, I was still able to chart.

Just try to take your temp as close to the same time as you can and don't get out of bed first.
