Okay, here is a mystery for you. I have really irregular cycles and this is my second month charting BBT, but my 5th using lh strips. I had a faint positive test on Thursday, a strong positive on Friday and didn't test on Saturday. On Sunday my BBT actually went down two tenths of a degree and then on Monday it went up to three tenths above baseline. The next day it rose almost a full degree and has stayed high ever since. Can it really take four or five days between lh surge and ovulation? The month before I had one positive lh test, the next day my temp rose a full degree. I am not quite sure what to make of this. If any body has any theories I would love to hear them.

Additional background info that may or may not be helpful. I had more first period since son's birth at the end of July (at eight months past his birth). I quit taking my progesterone only BC pills at the end of August. I suffered a chemical pregnancy the next month (I don't hink my luteul phase was long enought yet thanks to BC) and cycles have been between 28 and 35 days.

From what I read I heard it could be up to 48 hours, but if you didn't test on Saturday you could have had an even more positive test hehe.

A lot of times you can catch your surge on the up & down swing, you never really know where you're testing it at unless you're one of the lucky ladies who can FEEL themselves ovulate.

For me, I got two positive OPKs but had no idea which day I ovulated. I knew FF was wrong but I couldn't be certain otherwise.

I think it could be very possible that you ovulated a bit later, it might have geared up to do so- hence the positive OPKs, and then stalled a bit and shot up a little bit later.

Oops! I forgot to add that I did another lh test that Sunday (since temp hadn't shifted) and got a neg. That same day I had the only egg white I have had since September.

I am such a visual girl. I have a really hard time interpreting charts without seeing them. Do you use Fertility Friend or something else to chart online? I can try and map it out on paper later if you don't and tell you my thoughts if you have the temps.

I use paper charts. I can give you the days and temps though. Sorry.

CD19: 96.8F
CD20: 96.7F faint lh+
CD21: 96.6F dark lh+
CD22: 96.5F no lh test
CD23: 96.5F lh-, small amount of egg white
CD24: 96.4F
CD25: 96.9F
CD26: 97.7F (they have been around there since)

I think my baseline is 96.6 (it is either that or 96.5, I am still new to this).

From what I've read it can take 12-72 hours after your last positive OPK to ovulate. I would actually think, going by your temps, that you may have ovulated on cd24. GL!!!

I was going to say the same thing. I was just working on mapping out your chart so I could "see it". I did my best at drawing your crosshairs and coverline with my best guess.

You took a dip on the 23rd which happens a lot right before O and you got a nice rise from there. OPKs can be positive up to 72 hours so I think that I would put you at Oing on day 24 as well.

Depending on the OPKs some say that once you get a + you can expect to O anywhere from 24 to 72 hours later.
