Hi, I just recently started to temp....well not really. Just take the temp in the am to see what it is....a couple nights ago my temp was 99.2 and 99.1....but yesterday morning and this morning I got 98.7 and 98.5. I was hoping that I was PG but got a BFN last night. AF is due tomorrow for me....but it is hard to say since i used to be on BC. Please help me understand. What is a normal temp for when you are not pregnant and about to get AF???? Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I tried looking at some of the members charts and don't get it. Some are pregnant but the temp is so up and down and all over the place.....What would an elevated temp be considered???

You can't go by just a few different temps taken randomly. Every woman is different, for me a temp over say 98 is elevated, I usually only get one or two days that high after I ovulate. But, for someone else that may not be high at all.

Even if I compare one month to another, sometimes I will have super low temps pre-O, like 96.4, other times I hoover around 97 or so.

If you don't get your BFP this month, start taking your temp every morning at the same time and look for the patterns.

I know....random checking is not the way to go. I think I will try and start right now. I just don't understand all the changes and such. And when you first start you track it and then when you are going to ovulate your temp goes up? Then down again???

Yeah thats right...just take ur temp each morning at the same time before getting up and around...

Ur temp will take a dip adn then a significant rise around O....Then should drop down again around AF....If u are prego..Ur temp will rise after O and continue to rise and not dopr back down

98.5 is still a high temp, unfortunately some ladies temps stay high till the day of AF then drops dramatically! You have to temp at the same time each morning. You can continue to temp just to see what your temps do but it's not gonna tell you too much. Good Luck.

There's a getting started sticky that gives you lots of good info.

Thanks I have read everything. I just guess I am still confused. So, if you are temping and you see your temp go up after 12-14 days or so...so that mean you are to ovulate when??? I guess you should BD that day huh?
